The fire was the whole challenge. Mark and our in-house artists spent a long time on the light alone, studying how flame moves and glows without consuming, how to paint a fire that reads as alive and otherworldly at once. We researched the terrain of the Midian wilderness, the scrub and rock and dry seasons of that region, the kind of bush it likely was, because we wanted the holiness to rise out of a real and ordinary place.

Each pass began with prayer, with the desire to capture not a special effect but a presence. The intention was simple and serious, to bring a sense of the sacred into your home, a reminder that God still meets us on ordinary ground.
